Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers defeated the Prince Albert Raiders 4-2 on Saturday night.
The game was tied 2-2 heading into the final frame when Ryan Chyzowski sent a cross ice pass to Brett Kemp who fired the puck into the back of the net to take the lead for the home team. Shortly after, Corson Hopwo added the insurance goal to make it 4-2.
The Tigers opened the scoring early into the game by potting a pair of goals 34 seconds apart to chase Raiders starting goaltender Boston Bilous from the net and take a 2-0 lead. Rookie Cole Sillinger opened the scoring just over six minutes into the game. Sillinger's 10th goal of the season was assisted by Kemp.
Jonathan Brinkman extended the lead when his sharp angle shot found the back of the net. Elijah Brown and Baxter Anderson picked up the helpers on Brinkman's fourth goal of the season.
Bilous stopped 3 of 5 shots faced in six minutes and forty seconds. He was replaced by Carter Serhyenko.
In the second stanza, the Raiders scored a pair of goals to tie the game up 2-2. Remy Aquilon scored his first career goal before Spencer Moe tied it up for the visitors.
In the final frame, Kemp scored the game winning goal and his seventh of the season assisted by Chyzowski and Cole Clayton.
Hopwo's sixth goal of the season was scored on the power play when he picked up his own rebound in front of the goal to make it 4-2. Tyler Preziuso and Daniel Baker combined on the play.
Mads Søgaard stopped 25 of 27 shots faced during the contest while Serhyenko turned aside 27 of the Tigers' 29 shots.
Medicine Hat is now 16-7-1-0 and they will travel to Moose Jaw on Friday for a rematch against the Warriors before returning home Saturday to host the Saskatoon Blades.
