
Blades Clash with Raiders in Exhibition Tilt at CUC

The Saskatoon Blades close out the home portion of their exhibition schedule tonight as the Prince Albert Raiders visit Credit Union Centre.
The Blades and Raiders faced off in back-to-back games to open the exhibition season in late August. The Blades beat the Raiders 5-1 on August 27th in Prince Albert. The two teams met again on August 29th in Aberdeen with the Blades skating away with a 6-2 victory.
A quartet of Blades rookies leads the team in exhibition scoring. Forwards Brent Benson, Jamie Crooks, and Tyler Matheson and defenseman Duncan Siemens lead the team with 3 points each.
Eleven players eligible for this year's Blades lineup are away at National Hockey League camps. Forwards Burke Gallimore (Edmonton), Derek Hulak (Edmonton), Milan Kytnar (Edmonton), Gaelan Patterson (Calgary), and Travis Toomey (Atlanta) join defensemen Stefan Elliott (Colorado), Sam Klassen (NY Rangers), Jyri Niemi (NY Islanders), and Teigan Zahn (Chicago) and goaltenders Braden Holtby (Washington) and Adam Morrison (Philadelphia) at the camps.
Defenseman Darren Dietz has been called up for both preseason games this weekend.

Tomorrow the Blades travel to Regina to take on the Pats in their final exhibition game.
The Saskatoon Blades 2009-10 Regular Season kicks off Friday, September 18th as the Blades take on the Regina Pats in the 92.9 The Bull Home Opener. Doors will open at 5:30 pm. The Blades will be raising the 2008-09 East Division banner to the rafters prior to puck drop.
