
Everett Slides Past Hurricanes 2-1

KENNEWICK, WA - With 3:42 remaining in regulation, Markus McCrea notched the game-winning goal to lift the Everett Silvertips to a 2-1 victory over the Lethbridge Hurricanes in Game 2 of the Red Lion Hotels Pre-Season Tournament at the Toyota Center in Kennewick. Everett finishes their portion of the tournament schedule with a 2-0 record, while the Hurricanes return to the rink tomorrow afternoon to take on the Portland Winterhawks. Game time is 2:00 p.m.
The two squads battled to a scoreless tie after the first period of play, as Everett out chanced Lethbridge 9 to 3 through the first 20 minutes.
Both teams broke through in the second period, as both teams scored less than two minutes apart. While on the power play, Everett's Josh Winquist gave the 'Tips a brief 1-0 lead. But, at the 5:53 mark, Lethbridge's Cam Braes beat Luke Siemens, tying the game at 1.
