Blach Fires 5.0 Shut Out Frames In 5-2 Isotopes' Win

Albuquerque, NM - Isotopes starter Ty Blach fired 5.0 shutout innings while the offense collected 11 hits and stole a season-high five bases to win game three, 5-2, over the Rainiers Thursday night at RGCU Field.

Topes Scope: - Blach is the first Isotopes pitcher this year to toss 5.0+ innings and not allow a run. On the night, he allowed six hits and one walk while fanning two. The outing was Blach's first time throwing 5.0+ innings without allowing a run since June 14, 2018, with San Francisco at Miami (6.2 IP, 7 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K).

-Jimmy Herron connected on the club's 19th inside-the-park homer and the first since Ryan Vilde's July 15, 2021, vs. Sugar Land. Fifteen of the 19 inside-the-park homers have happened at RGCU Field. Additionally, he went 2-for-4, his ninth multi-hit effort on the year, with two stolen bases.

-Albuquerque pitching allowed just two runs in the contest, tied for the fewest runs surrendered this year (three times). Additionally, the club relented just one extra-base hit, tied for the second-fewest allowed.

-The Isotopes offense struck out just five times on the night, tied for the third-fewest on the year.

-The 17-minute pre-game delay is the fourth delay for the Isotopes this season but first at RGCU Field (three in Round Rock). Additionally, it's the shortest of 2023.

-Elehuris Montero plated the game's first run on a sac fly. It was his 27th RBI of the year.

-Daza went 3-for-5 with a double and RBI, extending his hit streak to six games. During the streak, he's hitting .414 (12x29) with three doubles, one homer and eight RBI. It's his fourth multi-hit effort and second three hit game of the year.

-Daniel Cope reached base three times for the fourth time this year after going 1-for-1 with two walks, one RBI and one run.

-Nolan Jones registered two hits on the night for his 16th multi-hit effort of the year and his fourth in his last five games. Additionally, he drew two walks and reached base four times for the eighth time.

-Trevor Boone collected two hits and a double on the night, his third multi-hit effort this season.

-The Isotopes stole five bases on the night, establishing a new season-high (previous: April 27 at Round Rock). Jimmy Herron swiped second base in the second frame and third in the sixth. He is 3-for-4 on stolen base attempts. In the fifth, Daza stole third base, his second stolen base on the year. Trevor Boone stole his first base in the sixth while Jones took second in the seventh. It was the team's first two swipes of third (2-for-4) in 2023. The Isotopes have stolen 28 bases on the year, tied for the third-fewest in Triple-A.

-Gavin Hollowell made his Triple-A and 2023 season debut. He Tossed 1.0 inning and fanned two while walking one.

-Blair Calvo earned his third save of the year after tossing a scoreless ninth while striking out two.

On Deck: The Isotopes and Rainiers meet for game four Friday night at 6:35 pm at RGCU Field. Albuquerque is scheduled to send Josh Rogers to the hill while Tacoma is slated to start Konnor Wade.
