The Buffalo Bisons take on the Charlotte Knights in the final game of a four-game series from Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). The Bisons can earn a series split with a victory tonight. The Herd is off tomorrow, and will start a four-game set against Indianapolis on Thursday.
vs. Charlotte
The Knights took a 2-1 lead in the 2013 season series with their 5-1 win last night. Since 1998, Buffalo is 55-65 against Charlotte, and has not won a season series over the Knights since going 5-3 in 2008.
On the Bump
LHP RICKY ROMERO will make his third start of the season for the Bisons tonight. In two previous starts, Romero has worked 7.1 innings and has not earned a decision. The Herd is 2-0 in games that Romero has taken the mound. This will be the southpaw's first appearance at Coca-Cola Field this season.
1-2 Punch
INF JIM NEGRYCH (.386) and INF LUIS JIMENEZ (.364) hold the two best batting averages in the International League. The duo is also 1-2 in the IL in on-base pct. with Negrych at .450 and Jimenez at .442. Negrych ranks 3rd in doubles (16), while Jimenez leads the IL in RBI (42), ranks fifth in hits (52) and is tied for 5th in home runs (9).
The other 1-2 Punch
LHP JUAN PEREZ and RHP NEIL WAGNER have combined to allow just four runs in 36.1 innings of work (0.99ERA) this year. The duo has 52 strikeouts to only 20 hits allowed this season. Wagner is a perfect 11-for-11 closing out games and has not given up a run in 13 straight outings (14.2 IP). Perez has held IL lefties hitless (0-17, 7 SO) and has yielded a run in only one of his last 14 outings (17.2 IP).
More Offense
Jimenez, Negrych, and OF MOISES SIERRA are tied for 4th in the IL in runs scored (28)...C JOSH THOLE is tied for 6th in batting avg. (.330) and Sierra is 9th (.324), giving the Herd four of the top 10 averages.

Recently-returned RHP MICKEY STOREY has held opponents scoreless in his last four appearances with the Bisons (6.0IP, 8SO)...The Bisons have outscored their opponents 41-12 from the 8th inning on this season...Buffalo leads the IL with 51 home runs on the season.
The Blue Jays (18-26) beat the Rays 7-5 on Monday night. Former Bisons OF ANTHONY GOSE entered the game in the 8th inning as a defensive substitution and went 0-1 at the plate. Former Bisons RHP R.A. DICKEY pitched 8 innings and earned his 4th victory of the season.
