TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Bisons face the Rochester Red Wings in the first game of a two-game series at Frontier Field (7:05 p.m.). The Bisons are coming off a 3-1 series win over the Gwinnett Braves to start the second half of the season. The Bisons host the Red Wings for two games at Coca-Cola Field, July 21-22, before leaving on an eight-game roadtrip on Friday.

vs RED WINGS: The Bisons are 4-3 against the Red Wings this season. The teams have split a pair of two-game series in Rochester, April 21-22 and July 10-11. Buffalo took two of three in the only series at Coca-Cola Field, July 1-3. The Herd has not won a series of any kind at Frontier Field since a two-game sweep of the Red Wings, June 30 - July 1, 2007.

HESSMAN RETURNS: The Bisons have activated INF MIKE HESSMAN off the disabled list. The slugger missed 33 games with a stress fracture in his right hand. At the time of his injury, Hessman was leading all of baseball with 57RBI and was tops in the International League with 18 homers. Those 18 home runs are still tied for 3rd most, while his .616 slugging percentage is five plate appearances shy of qualifying as the best in the IL. Hessman averaged .287 with 35 extra-base hits in the first two months of the season.

PASCUCCI DL'D: INF VALENTINO PASCUCCI has been placed on the disabled list with a left ankle sprain. Pascucci hit .238 (30-126) with 11 home runs and 22RBI for the Herd. The 11 homers are third most on the team.

JOLTIN' JACOBS: INF MIKE JACOBS has reached base safely in each of his last 17 games. Since June 27, the slugger has averaged .309 (21-68) with six doubles, six home runs and 17RBI. During that same span, Jacobs has drawn 10 walks and struck out only eight times for a .397 on-base percentage. Saturday, he drove in his 53rd run of the season, sixth most in the International League.

HITTING PADILLA: OF JORGE PADILLA is hitting .389 (7-18) with three runs scored, a double and three RBI in his last seven games with the Herd. Padilla went 3-4 with a double and an RBI in yesterday's victory over Gwinnett. The outfielder now has a .330 average since joining the Herd on June 19.

METS UPDATE: The Mets (49-43) beat the Giants in extra innings 4-3 yesterday. Former Bison INF IKE DAVIS went 3-5 with the game-winning RBI-double for the Mets in the 10th inning. LHP JOHAN SANTANA tossed eight strong innings, allowing one run and striking out five Giants. New York continues its 11-game roadtrip tonight, traveling to Arizona to face the Diamondbacks tonight (9:40 p.m.).
