FORT MILL, S.C. - The Louisville Bats flew all over the Charlotte Knights by a score of 11-2 at Knights Stadium. It was the first meeting of the year between the two clubs.

The game was competitive early on with both starting pitchers being effective. Louisville's Matt Maloney allowed just one unearned run off of three hits in 6.0 innings en route to his seventh win of the season. For Knights starter Carlos Torres it was another productive start as he struck out seven Bats hitters in 7.0 innings. Torres is now the International League leader in strikeouts with 112 on the season.

The Knights were able to score one run on heralded pitching prospect Aroldis Chapman in the 8th inning. A Juan Francisco error allowed Buck Coats to score which cut the Louisville lead to 3-2.

The Bats put the game out of reach in the top of the 9th inning with an eight run inning. Louisville took advantage of a two-out error made by Knights shortstop Luis Rodriguez eventually allowing seven unearned runs to score. Knights reliever Freddy Dosli took the brunt of it allowing eight runs off six hits, including home runs to Wladimir Balentien, Zack Cozart and Juan Francisco.

The Knights and Bats get back at it tomorrow afternoon at 12:15 PM. RHP Lucas Harrell (8-8, 4.19 ERA) will pitch for the Knights, the Bats will start RHP Matt Klinker (3-1, 3.76 ERA).
