TODAY'S GAME: This afternoon, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Charlotte Knights in the third game of a four-game series from Knights Stadium (2:15 p.m.). Last night, the Herd evened the series at a game apiece with an impressive 8-4 victory during which they scored in five of the first six innings. RHP Hyang-Nam Choi will get the start today for Buffalo. Choi is looking to bounce back from a loss on Monday against Toledo (4.2IP, 6H, 4R). Charlotte will go with RHP Charlie Haeger, who is currently the International League's leader in ERA (1.03).

ROLLING ALONG: Franklin Gutierrez has reached base safely in 23 of his last 25 games. Over the stretch, he has averaged .337 (31-92) with 15 walks. Gutierrez has also hit in eight of his last nine games, averaging .355 (11-31) with a home run and five RBI. His seven runs scored in his last seven games have also pulled him into second place in the IL in runs scored (41).

BENNY FRANCHISE: Ben Francisco has been red-hot so far in June. The outfielder has hit in eight of his nine games this month, including four multi-hit efforts, and averaged .361 (13-36) with one home run and six RBI. In those nine games, Francisco has also collected two doubles, a triple, six walks, seven runs scored and two stolen bases.

KEEPING PACE: Outfielder Jason Dubois is still among the top hitters in the IL with regards to driving in runs. His two-run double last night gave him 41RBI on the season, which is tied for third best in the league, three RBI off leader Garrett Jones of Rochester. Dubois leads the Bisons with eight home runs and is tied for second with 15 doubles.

STAYING HOT: Catcher Kelly Shoppach has hit in 11 of his last 12 games, hitting .319 (15-47) with five doubles, three home runs and seven RBI over the stretch. Shoppach is also 2nd in the IL with a 53% success rate throwing out bases runners (10-19).

GOOD STRETCH: Chalk up two more hits for Andy Marte last night, including his fourth home run of the season. Since the second game of a doubleheader on May 26, Marte is 19 for 56, good for a .339 batting average. The solid stretch at the plate has raised his season average 27 points, from .232 to .259.
