LAST NIGHT'S GAME Minnesota 75, Houston 62 The Minnesota Lynx used a 29-14 third quarter advantage to pull away from the Houston Comets and win 75-62 Sunday night at Target Center. With the win, the Lynx improved to 4-4 overall and are 4-1 in their last five games and 3-1 at Target Center. The game marked a drastic defensive improvement for the Lynx who held their opponent under 70 points for the first time all year. Minnesota kept Houston's leading scorer Tina Thompson in check, holding her to only three points in the second half.
The Lynx were led by Seimone Augustus who displayed her usual brilliance with 19 points, six rebounds and five assists. Nicole Ohlde added 16 points and eight boards while Kristin Mann dished out a career-high eight assists. Thompson scored 19 points and added seven rebounds to lead the Comets while Michelle Snow chipped in with 16 points and eight rebounds.
UP NEXT Seattle at Minnesota - Wednesday, June 14, at Target Center (7 p.m.) Minnesota's match-ups with the best of the WNBA continue as the Lynx take on the Seattle Storm Wednesday nigh (June 14) at Target Center. The Storm have dropped three of their last four to fall to 4-5 and below the Lynx in the standings, but they still feature one of the top guard-forward tandems in the league in Sue Bird and Lauren Jackson. All off the Lynx' first eight games have come against teams in the top four spots in their respective conferences. Jackson leads the Storm in scoring at 21.4 ppg. Bird leads the team in assists and is second in the WNBA at 5.4 per game. The Lynx are 11-9 all-time against the Storm. Last season they split the season series 2-2, each winning a game at home and a game on the road.
