AJ Burnett to start for Syracuse Monday

SYRACUSE (NY) - The Syracuse SkyChiefs announced today that Blue Jays right-handed pitcher A.J. Burnett will start for the SkyChiefs Monday versus Columbus on a Major League Rehabilitation Assignment.

Burnett, who signed a five-year, $55 million contract with Toronto during the off-season, is 0-1 with a 6.30 ERA in two starts for the Jays this season. He's been on the DL for 57 of the Blue Jays' 61 games this season.

The 6'4 right-hander pitched for the Florida Marlins from 2000-2005 compiling a record of 49-50 with a 3.73 ERA. He tossed a no-hitter for the Marlins at San Diego on May 12, 2001.
