Today's Game

This afternoon, the Bisons host the Pawtucket Red Sox for second game of a two-game series at Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). Buffalo needs a win today to split the two-game set as well as their four-game homestand that started with a two-game split with Rochester. Tomorrow, the Herd begins a seven-game road swing in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Last Game

The Red Sox scored five total runs in the 2nd through 4th innings to overcome OF Domonic Brown's first-inning home run in a 5-2 defeat of the Herd. RHP Casey Lawrence allowed all five runs in five total innings to fall to 0-2 on the season. It was the Bisons' first loss by more than two runs all season.

vs. Pawtucket (2-3)

The Bisons opened up the season in Pawtucket as the two teams split a four-game set from McCoy Stadium. The PawSox will return to Coca-Cola Field in a month for a three-game set, May 19-22. In Buffalo's modern era, these teams have evenly split their 314 total contests.

Chris Leroux

RHP Chris Leroux allowed just one hit in four innings in his Bisons/season debut, a no-decision April 12 in Syracuse. The righty walked five and had one strikeout in his first appearance in 17 days. Prior to that, Leroux's last outing was an inning of relief work on March 26 against Detroit while the righty was still in cap with Philadelphia.

Dalton Pompey

OF Dalton Pompey has hit in each of his first five games this year with a .389 (7-18) average and a .421 on-base pct. In 82 career games with the Herd, the centerfielder has averaged .302 with 23 RBI and 23 stolen bases to go along with a .378 on-base pct.

Andy Burns

INF Andy Burns collected his third multi-hit game of the season in yesterday's loss. Burns has averaged .318 (7-22) with three doubles after an 0-15 start to the season. Burns has also started at four defensive positions after just 10 games. This will be his second start at shortstop.

David Aardsma

RHP David Aardsma is a perfect 3-for-3 in converting saves this season to lead all International League relievers. The 34-year old veteran now has 145 career saves, including 69 at the Major League level with Seattle, 2009-2010. Aardsma has not allowed a hit in any of his outings and has issued just one walk.

Bisons Bits

RHP Drew Hutchison leads all qualifying IL pitchers with a 0.34 average against...Bisons pitchers have struck out 74 batters and allowed just 70 hits in 82.2 innings of work.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (5-7) lost 4-2 to the Red Sox on Saturday. Toronto is now just 1-4 to start the year against their A.L. East rival. Former Blue Jays pitcher LHP David Price struck out nine over seven innings to best RHP Marco Estrada. RF Jose Bautista doubled and drove in his eighth run of the season in the loss. Blue Jays face the Sox today at 1:35 p.m.
