Moosic, PA (April 17, 2016) - The Syracuse Chiefs dropped the final game of a four-game series to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, 2-1, Sunday afternoon at PNC Field. The Chiefs allowed just one hit after the second inning, outhitting the RailRiders 12-4.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (7-3) got on the board in the first. Aaron Judge singled with one out off Taylor Hill. Judge moved to second on a passed ball, and scored on Rob Refsnyder's single to give the RailRiders an unearned run and 1-0 lead.

Hill settled in from there, allowing just one more hit over the next five innings. Hill finished after six strong innings with just the one unearned run allowed, no walks and five strikeouts. Hill set down the final 13 batters he faced.

Syracuse (5-4) finally got on the board in the seventh. Brian Goodwin tripled to lead off the inning against Luis Cessa. He scored on Pedro Severino's double to tie the score at one. The Chiefs would load the bases after Caleb Ramsey singled, Trea Turner grounded into a fielders choice, and Tony Campana singled. But Cessa got Sizemore to strikeout and Skole to pop out to keep the game tied at one.

The RailRiders took the lead in the eighth against Trevor Gott. Lance Adams singled and was moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. Gott then walked Jonathan Diaz and Ben Gamel to load the bases. Judge then hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Adams just ahead of Ramsey's throw to give SWB a 2-1 lead. The RailRiders nearly added to the lead, but Refsnyder flew out to the wall in left one batter later to end the inning.

Ramsey reached on a bunt single to lead off the ninth, but was stranded on second as Nick Goody picked up the save.

Syracuse takes the short trip to Allentown to open a two-game series at Lehigh Valley Monday at 7:05 p.m. Austin Voth is scheduled to start for the Chiefs opposite Mark Appel for the IronPigs.
