TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons host the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in the final game of a four-game set at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). After a 5-2 loss last night, the Herd is now 2-5 on their current eight-game homestand. Buffalo begins a two-game series with Pawtucket tomorrow night before heading back home for a nine-game homestand.

vs. IRONPIGS: The Bisons are 6-6 against the IronPigs this season. The Herd split a two-game series in Lehigh Valley, August 8-9. The Herd is 3-4 against the IronPigs at home. The Bisons will again travel to Lehigh Valley for the final three games of the 2012 regular season, September 1-3.

OH JENRRY: RHP JENRRY MEJIA takes the hill for his seventh start of the season. The righty is coming off a win against Pawtucket, August 12, where he tossed 5.0 innings while allowing six hits and two unearned runs. In his two August starts, he has not surrendered an earned run in 9.1 innings of work. Overall, Mejia is 2-2 with a 2.90ERA in 22 appearances this season.

OFF TO FENWAY: Buffalo travels to Boston tomorrow to square off with the PawSox in the 7th Annual Futures at Fenway Game at Fenway Park. The Herd will be part of a doubleheader hosted by two Boston minor league clubs. The Red Sox Single-A affiliate, the Lowell Spinners, will take on the Hudson Valley Renegades at 1:05 p.m. First pitch for the Bisons will be shortly after.

BEATO: The New York Mets announced yesterday that RHP PEDRO BEATO has been traded to the Boston Red Sox to complete the August 14 trade that brought C KELLY SHOPPACH to New York for a player to be named later. Beato pitched in 24 games (one start) for the Bisons this year and posted a 4-4 record and a 4.14ERA. He allowed 32 hits in 37.0 innings of work with 27K.

BISONS BITS: LHP JUSTIN HAMPSON and LHP GARRETT OLSON combined to throw 4.0 shutout innings in relief last night, allowing just two hits and striking out three...OF FRED LEWIS has scored at least one run in 10 of his last 12 games. He leads the team with 70 runs scored...INF BRAD EMAUS hit two doubles last night, giving him two extra-base hits in a game for the first time this season...INF ZACH LUTZ had two more hits last night and is now batting .303 this season.

METS UPDATE : The Mets (56-62) won 8-4 against Cincinnati last night in the final game of a three-game set at Great American Ball Park. Former Bisons RHP MATT HARVEY picked up his second MLB win and also helped his own cause with a two-run double. New York will begin a three-game series at Nationals Park tonight (7:05 p.m.).
