Today's Game

This afternoon, the Bisons take on the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in the final game of their three game series (1:05 p.m.). The Herd will continue their homestand, next hosting the Syracuse Chiefs for a four game set at Coca-Cola Field. Buffalo will then travel to face the Rochester Red Wings for a 6-game series May 25-28. Buffalo will begin to make-up their previously postponed games, with two being completed in Rochester.

Last Game: BUF 9 S/W-B 2

RHP Justin Dillon tossed 7 innings earning the win on the mound on Saturday. The righty struck out three over that span, while surrendering four hits and one run. This was Dillon's first career Triple-A win. C Reese McGuire slugged his second home run of the season, plating the final run in the Herd's victory. The backstop also added a RBI single in the first.

Today's Starter: RHP Taylor Guerrieri

RHP Taylor Guerrieri is making his second start with the Bisons this season. The righty has spent the majority of this year in the bullpen. His first and only start came on May 3 at Coca-Cola Field where he threw three shutout innings giving up one hit in route to the team's 3-0 victory against the Syracuse Chiefs.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (3-2)

The Bisons and RailRiders will play a total of 16 times this season. Buffalo took the first game of the season between the two teams but the RailRiders claimed victory in the final two games of the set. Following this series, the Herd will play the RailRiders next July 2-3 at Coca-Cola Field before heading to PNC Field in PA July 4-5 for another two game series.

Devon Travis

2B Devon Travis extended his hitting streak to seven straight ballgames with a base hit in the fourth inning on Friday, increasing his batting average to .207. Travis now has a hit in 11 of the 13 games that he has appeared in since being optioned to Buffalo. He has made 11 starts at second base, with a pair of games serving as the designated hitter.

Reese McGuire

C Reese McGuire hit his second home run of the season on Saturday. Prior to Saturday's game, McGuire's last long ball came on April 25th in Durham in the Herd's 5-2 victory against the Bulls. He also now has 4 2-hit games this season.

Transactions

RHP Justin Shafer was promoted to the Bisons' roster on Saturday from New Hampshire (AA).

Bisons Bits

The Bisons have now scored 24 runs in the fourth inning after C Reese McGuire's solo shot on Saturday, the most in any single inning for the team this season...Buffalo is now 13-3 when scoring 4 or more runs this season and 14-3 when outhitting its opponent. The Herd continues to lead the IL in stolen bases this season (40).

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (22-24) have lost three games in a row to the Oakland Athletics after a 5-4 loss on Saturday afternoon. SS Gio Urshela collected his first home run of 2018 in the losing effort for the Jays. The Blue Jays look to avoid the sweep as they send RHP Joe Biagini to the mound to face RHP Daniel Mengden (1:07 p.m.).
