DURHAM, NC - An early deficit was too much for the Durham Bulls to overcome Sunday evening at the DBAP, as they fell to the Indianapolis Indians 9-2 to snap the team's five-game winning streak.

The Indians grabbed a 2-0 lead in the visitor's second on a two-run home run by Erich Wood. Indy added a run in the fourth on a single by Ryan Lavarnway scoring Jordan Luplow, who reached on a double to open the frame.

Kean Wong led off the fourth with a solo home run, his third of the season, cutting the deficit to 3-1, but that would be as close as the Bulls would get.

In the seventh, the Indians pushed two more runs across on a single by Christopher Bostick, scoring Jerrick Suiter and Kevin Newman, extending their lead to 5-1.

Indianapolis tacked on four runs in the eighth, including a solo home run by Kevin Kramer to extend its lead to 9-1.

In the home half of the eighth, Andrew Velazquez doubled, moved to third on a ground out, and scored on a wild pitch cutting the deficit to 9-2.

Alex McRae (W, 1-4) earned his first victory of the year, tossing 7.0 innings, allowing one run on five hits with eight strikeouts.

Chih-Wei Hu (L, 0-3) dropped his third decision over seven starts after allowing three runs on five hits, with seven strikeouts.

Durham has gone 22-7 since April 20th, including a 5-1 record for the homestand, and lost for just the fifth time in May.

The Bulls (26-15) hit the road to face the Gwinnett Stripers (16-25) Monday night for a four-game set at Coolray Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Following the series in Lawrenceville, GA, the Bulls to Louisville to face the Bats for four more games.
