Today's Game
This evening, the Bisons take on the Columbus Clippers in the first of their three-game series over three days at Coca-Cola Field. Following this series Buffalo will continue their home stand against the Charlotte Knights with a three game series on June 1-3. After an off day the Herd will travel to Toledo for a three game series with the Mud Hens starting June 5.
Last Night: BUF 4, ROC 2
LHP Ryan Borucki earned his fourth win of the season as the Bisons took 5 of 6 in Rochester. The lefty threw 6.0 IP while only allowing 2R. The Herd scored first in the third inning thanks to 2B Richard Urena's sacrifice fly. DH Danny Jansen had 2 RBI in his eighth multi-hit game of the season. RHP Justin Shafer nailed down his fourth save of the year with two no-hit innings.
Today's Starter: RHP Sean Reid-Foley
RHP Sean Reid-Foley is looking to bounce back from his first Triple-A start on 5/24 against Syracuse. The righty allowed 8H, 2BB, and only had 2 SO in 2.1 IP for his Triple-A debut.. Reid-Foley is the 10th ranked prospect in the Blue Jays system according to MLB.com.
Columbus (0-0)
The Bisons and Clippers will play for the first time this season. The two teams will play a total of 6 times this season. Following these games at Coca-Cola field, Buffalo will travel to Huntington Park for a three-game series beginning on June 8.
Danny Jansen
C Danny Jansen extended his hitting streak with the Bisons to five straight games with a 2-3 performance in yesterday's win against Rochester. Jansen now leads the IL in batting average and on base percentage with a .331 and .438 respectively. He leads the Herd with 40H on the season and has been vital to the Bisons success thus far.
Richard Urena
INF Richard Urena extended his hitting streak to three games going 1-4 and scoring a run in yesterday's win in Rochester. He has upped his batting average to .300 in ten games with the Herd. Urena went 5-8 over the doubleheader in Rochester on Saturday, as well.
Tim Lopes
INF Tim Lopes collected a hit and a stolen base in yesterday's win against the Red Wings. With his eighth stolen base of the year Lopes now trails Roemon Fields by 1 SB for the team lead. The infielder also ranks 9th in the IL with a .303 AVG.
Bisons Bits
With their win last night the Herd sits only 1.5 games back of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs for first in the International League North. Last time Buffalo won the division was in 2005 under then manager Marty Brown.
Blue Jays Update
Toronto (25-29) lost the first of a three game series against the Red Sox 8-3. Former Bison OF Teoscar Hernandez collected a double and a triple with an RBI.
RHP Sam Gaviglio will face off against LHP Eduardo Rodriguez at 1:05 p.m. at Fenway Park. After the series in Boston the Blue Jays have a scheduled off day May 31. Toronto will return to action June 1 in Detroit for a three game series against the Tigers.
