C Brett Austin placed on the DL

Charlotte Knights News Release
C Kevan Smith, who was placed on the DL on May 22nd, was activated off the DL today by the Knights. Smith has appeared in 25 games with Charlotte this season and is hitting .283 (26-for-92) with 10 runs scored, four doubles, four home runs, and 14 RBIs. Smith, a member of the Chicago White Sox 40-man roster, will take the roster spot of C Brett Austin, who was placed on Charlotte's disabled list today (retroactive to May 27th). Austin, a Charlotte, NC native has appeared in five games with the Knights this season and is hitting .400 (6-for-15) with two RBIs. This is his second stint on the DL this season. He was also placed on the club's DL on April 25th (retroactive to April 23rd).
