Today's Game

This afternoon, the Buffalo Wings take on the Rochester Plates in the final game of a four-game series. Following this series, Buffalo will have a scheduled day off on Monday before heading to Pawtucket for a four-game series June 19-21. The Herd will then return to Coca-Cola Field to host the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Pawtucket Red Sox June 22-28.

Last Game: BUF 2, ROC 6

RHP Chris Rowley pitched 6.0 innings yesterday in the Herd's loss. The righty gave up 3H, R/ER, 3BB, and had 3SO. 1B Rowdy Tellez tied the game up with a 2R home run after a single by INF Lourdes Gurriel Jr in the bottom of the ninth inning. Tellez also added a double and had the only 2RBIs of the game for Buffalo.

Rochester (7-5)

The Wings and Plates will play a total of 17 times this season. The last time Buffalo played Rochester was 5/25 through 5/28 winning five out of six games, including two doubleheader sweeps against their Thruway Cup rival (5/25 and 5/27). Following this series in Buffalo, the Wings will travel to Frontier Field for a three game series starting on 8/28.

Today's Starter: RHP Taylor Guerrieri

RHP Taylor Guerrieri will make his seventh start of the season. The righty's last outing was 6/10 going 6.0IP, 6H, R/ER, BB, and 3SO. It was also his longest outing of the season so far. Guerrieri is looking for his first decision since earning the W on 5/30 against Columbus where giving up 4H, 3R/ER, BB, 2HR, and had 2SO in his 5 innings of work.

Rowdy Tellez

1B Rowdy Tellez went 2-4 with a double and home run yesterday evening. He also collected both RBIs in yesterday's game. The infielder now has 5 homers on the season with his last one coming on 6/12 helping the Herd to a 9-2 victory @LHV. Tellez is batting .333 in his last ten games with 7RBIs.

Transactions

Prior to Saturday's game, Buffalo announced that OF Steve Pearce was assigned to the team to begin a MLB Rehab assignment.

Hot Wings

With a base hit Friday, C Reese McGuire now has a 6-game hitting streak going 11-21 (.524) over the stretch...OF Roemon Fields is batting .315 (17-54) with a .422 on-base percentage in 14 June games, with all of the hits coming in nine of those...Despite giving up a pair of runs Friday, RHP Conor Fisk continues to lead Buffalo relievers with a 1.29ERA in 21.0 innings pitched.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr.

INF Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went 1-4 yesterday with a single in the ninth inning to start the Wings' late rally. He scored on Rowdy Tellez's home run. Gurriel Jr. has 12H in his last ten games with two home runs and a .333 batting average. The infielder has 7 RBI's in his last ten games also.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (32-38) took game two of a three-game series against the Washington Nationals with a 2-0 victory Saturday night. 2B Devon Travis led the Blue Jays' offense. He went 2-3 with a run scored and 2 RBI's. The infielder had his fourth home run plating the only runs of the game. RHP Sam Gaviglio will face RHP Tanner Roark in the search of the sweep in today's game at Rogers Centre (1:07 p.m.).
