Today's Game
This evening the Bisons take on the Mets in the second game of a four-game series. The two teams face each other 17 times this season over a span of five different series. Buffalo plays host to the next series at Sahlen Field May 28-30.
Last Game: BUF 3, SYR 7
The Bisons opened the game with an early 3-0 lead but were unable to cross the plate the rest of the night. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. led the Buffalo offense going 3-4 with a home run and 2RBI, with the 3R HR capping off the team's 1st inning scoring. Roemon Fields also collected two hits in the loss, his team-leading sixth multihit game.
Syracuse (0-1)
Last season the Bisons split the season series with the Syracuse Chiefs, the last season affiliated with the Washington Nationals. The team is now the Triple-A Affiliate of the New York Mets, adopting the same nickname as their parent club.
Today's Starter
Jacob Waguespack gets the ball for Buffalo this evening. This will be the Prairieville, LA product's fourth start of the season. Picking up a decision in each of his starts, Waguespack earned the win his last time out in Pawtucket on 4/16, going five innings while yielding just one run on three hits.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. collected his twelfth three-hit game of his young career Monday night. The infielder has now picked up hits in two of his three games since being optioned to the Herd, both multi-hit performances.
Bisons announce new TV Partnership
Prior to Monday's game, the Bisons and Nexstar Broadcasting announced that The CW-23, WNLO will now become the new "Television Home of the Bisons'. The 10-game TV schedule begins on May 4th when the Herd takes on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs at 1:05 p.m.
Transactions
Prior to Monday's game, OF Jonathan Davis was assigned to Buffalo on an MLB Rehab Assignment. C Michael De La Cruz was activated off the 7-day Injured List.
Blue Jays Update
Toronto (11-12) had a scheduled off-day Monday before beginning a five-game in six-day homestand. Trent Thornton is scheduled to face Jeff Samardzija and the San Francisco for a two-game series with first pitch tonight scheduled for 7:07 p.m.
