Bisons Flash Power, Speed in 11-1 Victory
April 13, 2018 - International League (IL1)
Buffalo Bisons News Release
The Bisons proved they could put runs on the board any way they wanted in an 11-1 fridaynightbash! thumping of the Indianapolis Indians.
Jason Leblebijian and Roemon Fields each hit two-run home runs while Ian Parmley stole home as the Herd improved to 3-2 on the young season.
Buffalo put up multiple 'crooked numbers' on the Coca-Cola Field scoreboard, finding different ways to piece together rallies each time. Already ahead 1-0, Leblebijian and Fields both left the yard out to right field in the fourth inning. Leblebijian parked his second of the season into the pavilion area, while Fields' blast into Bully Hill Party Deck was his first in 113 career Triple-A games.

Then, the highlight of the three-run Bisons sixth was Parmley's steal of home. The Bisons right field started the scoring in the frame when he doubled in Leblebijian to make it 6-1 Buffalo. He was moved to third when Fields reached on an error, and when last year's International League stolen base king took off for second, Parmley raced to the plate for yet another run.
Parmley became the first Bisons player to steal home since Darin Mastroianni's straight steal of the plate on August 11, 2014. The last time a Herd player stole home as part of a double steal was when current Padres manager Andy Green accomplished the feat in 2010.
The Bisons then pushed the lead to 11-1 by scoring three more times in the seventh despite hitting just one ball into the outfield, Danny Espinosa's leadoff double. After a walk and a fielder's choice off the bat of Danny Jansen, Leblebijian beat out an infield single to bring home Espinosa. Jansen trotted home on a wild pitch and Leblebijian came around on an RBI ground out from Parmley.
Nine of the 11 Bisons runs came from the five through nine spots in the lineup. Leblebijian finished 2-4 with three runs scored and three RBI.
On the mound, Chris Rowley didn't have his best stuff, but powered through five innings to earn his first win of the season. The righty walked five without a recording a strikeout, but used the cold night to induce 12 flyball outs. Half of those were recorded on the infield.
The Bisons have now alternated wins and losses for the first six games of the season, but will look to break that streak Saturday at 1pm with Joe Biagini on the hill.
