
Bisons Activate Catcher Yamid Haad

The Buffalo Bisons have added catcher Yamid Haad to their active roster. Haad signed a minor league contract with the Cleveland Indians yesterday.
Haad, 29, spent this past spring as a camp invitee of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. From 2004-2006 he was with the San Francisco organization and played 17 games with the Giants in 2005 (2-28, 1RBI). He was a Pacific Coast League All-Star in 2005 with Triple-A Fresno, hitting .282 (61-216) with 10 home runs and 34RBI in 63 games.
Haad owns a career minor league batting average of .250 (689-2754) with 122 doubles, 69 home runs and 322RBI in 821 games since beginning in 1995 in the Pirates organization. He was originally signed by Pittsburgh as a non-drafted free agent on December 8, 1995 and made his Major League debut with the Pirates in 1999 (1G, 0-1).
