
Whiting to Perform National Anthem

SYRACUSE (NY) - The Syracuse Chiefs are pleased to announce that local recording artist JOE WHITING will perform the National Anthem as part of the festivities when the Chiefs open the 2007 season this Saturday, April 14th, at 2:00 PM versus the Ottawa Lynx.
Joe Whiting was inducted into the Syracuse Area Music Hall of Fame in 1996 and has performed with music greats Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry and Little Richard on music's biggest stages, Madison Square Garden, The Spectrum in Philly and The Boston Garden. His 1991 solo album, Jumpin' Joe Whiting, Rhythm 'n' Groove was nominated for a Grammy, "best contemporary blues album" and a song he co-wrote on the record was nominated for "best contemporary blues song". Whiting also performed the National Anthem before the Chiefs final game at MacArthur Stadium in 1996.
The colors for the National Anthem will be presented by cadets from the Air Force ROTC at Syracuse University.
Before the action begins on the field the parking lot will be the place to be as kids will be able to enjoy an inflatable moonwalk beginning at 10:30 and fans of all ages will be entertained by local performing artists The FabCats from noon until 2:00 PM.
The first 5,000 fans to enter the stadium will receive a free 2007 schedule magnet, compliments of Alliance Bank and a face painter will be available on the concourse.

Level 300 (General Admission) - Adult $5.00, Child/Senior $3.00
