
Braves Rally For Win Over Yankees

Moosic, PA - The Richmond Braves edged the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees 4-3 Tuesday at PNC Field. The Braves rallied from a 3-0 deficit to even their season record at 1-1.
The Yankees jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning on a two-run homer by Shelly Duncan, his second in two nights. Bronson Sardinha followed with a run scoring single to put the Yankees ahead 3-0. The Braves rallied in the fifth on back to back home runs by Wes Timmons and Willie Harris to cut the Yankees lead to 3-2. Richmond tied the game in the seventh when Harris scored on a Martin Prado ground out. The Braves scored the winning run in the ninth when Yunel Escobar chased Harris home for his third run of the game with an RBI double.
Manny Acosta picked up the win. Peter Moylan struck out two in the ninth to earn a save. Ron Villone took the loss. Prado and Escobar had two hits each for the Braves. Duncan had three hits for the Yankees
The same two clubs square off again Wednesday at 7 PM in Moosic, PA for game three of their four game series. Right-hander Anthony Lerew will pitch for Richmond against the Yankees Tyler Klippard.
