JACKSONVILLE, FL - Paul Gran doubled home Kevin Mattison in the bottom of the tenth to give the Jacksonville Suns (54-52) a 3-2 win over the Biscuits (53-53) Sunday night at the Baseball Grounds.

Mattison had started the inning with a double against Zach Quate (4-5), and Gran was originally up to sacrifice before Quate fell behind 2-0. Gran then pulled the bat back and cranked one to right center to give the Suns the win.

The Biscuits never led, tying the game at 1-1 in the fourth on a Henry Wrigley double and again in the eighth on an error. They had the go-ahead run at third in both the eighth and the tenth, but Wrigley struck out swinging on both occasions to end the chance.

Ramon Benjamin (2-0) was the winner for the Suns, hurling two shutout frames. Both starters pitched seven innings but took no-decisions, with Jim Paduch holding the Suns to two runs on only three hits and Joey O'Gara holding the Biscuits to one run on five hits.

Shawn O'Malley led the Biscuits with a 3-4 night. Wrigley and Brett Nommensen each had two hits.

The second game of the series is scheduled for 6:05 Monday night as Chris Archer faces off against Jose Alvarez.
