
Daryle Ward Joins BayBears

MOBILE, Ala. - Prior to tonight's contest between the Mobile BayBears and Chattanooga Lookouts from Hank Aaron Stadium, the BayBears and the Arizona Diamondbacks have announced the following roster move.
IF Daryle Ward has been signed by the Diamondbacks and assigned to Class AA Mobile. Ward started this season with the Newark Bears in the Independent Can-Am League and hit .312 with 12 homers.
Ward, 36, spent 11 seasons in the major leagues from 1998-2008 with the Astros, Dodgers, Pirates, Nationals, Braves and Cubs. He cracked 90 big league homers and posted a career .263 average.
The BayBears now have 24 active players with 2 on the disabled list.
