Long Ball Blasts Mudcats Over Stars

HUNTSVILLE, AL -The Carolina Mudcats (40-67) hit four home runs to run away with a 13-1 win over the Huntsville Stars (54-53) and even the series 1-1.

Neftali Soto continued to swing a hot bat against Stars' pitchers as he belted two home runs and hit 4-for-6, driving in six runs. Yasmani Grandal and Bill Rhinehart also hit homers for Carolina.

The only run of the game for the Stars was a RBI-double by Brock Kjeldgaard that drove in Zelous Wheeler.

Kyle Heckathorn (0-2) had a rough night giving up seven runs (6 ER) on nine hits, including two home runs, and two walks over 4.1 innings. Reliever R.J. Seidel gave up three runs, including two home runs, in 2.2 innings. Jesus Sanchez also gave up three runs in two innings of relief.

Pedro Villarreal (5-2) pitched six innings allowing only one unearned run on six hits to pick up the win.
