
Birmingham Drops Wednesday Showdown with Delaware

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Squadron, NBA G League Affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, fell to the Delaware Blue Coats, 124-102, in the first all-time meeting between the two teams on Wednesday night at Legacy Arena at the BJCC.
Birmingham (4-13) led 84-83 with 10:55 to go, but the Blue Coats finished the game on a 40-21 run to claim victory.
Delaware (8-4) was led in scoring by NBA Slam Dunk Contest participant Mac McClung's 25 points. Louis King pitched in 21 for the Blue Coats, while Jaden Springer scored 19.
Twenty-two points apiece for two-way guard Dereon Seabron and Kelan Martin paced the Squadron. Forward Zylan Cheatham hauled in 12 rebounds on the night, marking his third consecutive game with double-digit rebounding numbers.
Birmingham's next contest comes on Friday when the Squadron head to Sioux Falls to take on the Skyforce, NBA G League affiliate of the Miami Heat. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. on My68 WABM and NBAGLeague.com.
