Raptors 905 News Release

Raptors 905, the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, will host Capes for Kids Night with Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and Pascal Siakam's PS43 Foundation Canada on Feb. 6 for their game against the Maine Celtics at Paramount Fine Foods Centre. A crowd of enthusiastic red-caped supporters will attempt to break the current Guinness World Records title for the largest gathering of people wearing capes, which currently stands at 2,266. A portion of proceeds from game tickets purchased using a special promo code will support the hospital's Capes for Kids annual fundraising campaign, which is aiming to raise $1 million to help children and youth with disabilities.

Capes for Kids is Holland Bloorview's signature fundraising campaign. Currently in its seventh year, the campaign has raised over $4.3 million for research, education, and care at Holland Bloorview. The red capes worn during the campaign, which runs until Mar. 10, are meant to spark conversations about childhood disability and inclusion.

All attendees will receive a red cape and will be instructed by Raptors forward Pascal Siakam and the Holland Bloorview team to wear it during the break between the first and second quarter of the game, when the Guinness World Records Adjudicator and volunteers will perform the official count.

Prizes and family engagement opportunities will take place throughout the game, and there will be special guest appearances during the halftime show.
