LAST WEEK: The Binghamton Senators went 0-0-1-1 last weekend. On Friday night, the B-Sens played in their first shootout of the season losing 3-2 to the Albany River Rats. The Senators lost 5-4 to Rochester in overtime in their fourth attempt to earn co-coach JOHN PADDOCK'S 500th win. The B-Sens are now tied with Bridgeport for fifth place in the East Division with 10 points.

FRIDAY NOV. 5TH vs. ALBANY (3-2 SOL): The shootout returned to Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena and Binghamton ended up on the losing end of a 3-2 decision. The B-Sens took the lead only 1:05 into the game when JASON SPEZZA found himself one-on-one with River Rats' goalie ARI AHONEN. But rookie forward AARON VOROS would score twice in the first period to put Albany ahead 2-1. Winger DENIS HAMEL would score the last goal before the shootout at 8:59 of the second period. DEAN McAMMOND scored twice in the shootout and Binghamton scored three times while facing elimination before ANTOINE VERMETTE was denied on the final shot to give Albany the win. RAY EMERY made 22 saves on 24 shots in losing his first shootout. ARI AHONEN made 40 saves on 42 shots in earning the win. Binghamton was 0 for 5 on the power play while Albany was 1 for 4. Binghamton held a 42 to 25 shot advantage.

SATURDAY, NOV. 6TH vs. ROCHESTER (5-4 OTL): Binghamton lost their fourth straight game on Saturday night against the Rochester Americans. STEVE LINGREN scored only 1:14 into the game for the Amerks, but DENIS HAMEL would even the score with a power-play goal at 5:50 of the first period. JASON SPEZZA scored his second short-handed goal of the season at 11:27 of the second period. After a BRIAN POTHIER power-play goal put the B-Sens on top 4-2, the Amerks began their comeback. Wingers NORM MILLEY and JASON POMINVILLE scored less than two minutes apart late in the third period to tie the game at four. POMINVILLE scored again only 0:48 into the overtime period to give the Amerks the victory. RAY EMERY started his third consecutive game in goal and made 34 saves on 39 shots. RYAN MILLER made 31 saves on 35 shots to earn the victory. Binghamton was 2 for 5 on the power play while Rochester did not score in six chances with the man advantage.

THIS WEEK: Binghamton will play three of their four games at home this week. On Wednesday the Norfolk Admirals are in town for the second time this season. The B-Sens will then travel to Hamilton for a game in RAY EMERY'S hometown on Friday. The Senators return home for a game on Saturday against Philadelphia and Sunday against Syracuse.

WEDNESDAY NOV. 10TH vs. NORFOLK (7:05 p.m.): Press & Sun-Bulletin Score 4 Pack (4 tickets, 4 sodas and 4 hot dogs for $51)/Price Chopper Advantage Card Night (Show your Advantage Card and receive $2.00 off a regular price B-Sens ticket./Armed forces night - first 3,000 fans receive mini-American flags/Kids Night (All kids 12 and under can get a B-Sens ticket for $8.50): The Norfolk Admirals return to Binghamton for the second time in twelve days. Binghamton's last win this season came against the Admirals on Oct. 29. The B-Sens tied a franchise record that night by scoring two short-handed goals in a single game. Centers JASON SPEZZA (2g, 2a) and CHRIS KELLY (1g, 3a) each had four-point nights as the B-Sens rolled to a 5-3 victory. Norfolk will return to Binghamton on March 2 and 4.

FRIDAY NOV. 12TH @ HAMILTON (7:30 p.m.): The B-Sens travel to Hamilton for only their fourth road trip in their first 11 games. The game will be Binghamton's second and last against the Bulldogs this season. Binghamton defeated Hamilton 2-1 in overtime on Oct. 23. JASON SPEZZA scored the game-winning goal that night only 0:32 into the extra period when he redirected an ANTON VOLCHENKOV shot. Center TOMAS PLEKANEC scored the lone goal for the Bulldogs. BILLY THOMPSON earned his first and only victory of the season making 30 saves on 31 shots. YANN DANIS made 29 saves on 31 shots for Hamilton.

SATURDAY NOV. 13TH vs. PHILADELPHIA (7:05 p.m.): College Night - Students with valid I.D. receive a discounted ticket and can be entered for raffles and giveaways at the game. The Hat Trick band will play modern rock in the Arena Club after the game: Philadelphia and Binghamton meet Saturday for the first of six contests this season. Binghamton held a 4-1-0-1 record in the series last season. DENIS HAMEL is the leading returning scorer against the Phantoms from a year ago. He had five points (3g, 2a) in six games. RAY EMERY played all six games and had a record of 4-2-0 with a goals against average of 2.15. Forward PETER WHITE and defenseman JOHN SLANEY are the leading returning scorers in last season's series. WHITE recorded 1 goal and 3 assists in four games while SLANEY had no goals and four assists in four games. Center PATRICK SHARP leads the Phantoms with 11 points (4g, 7a) in nine games.

SUNDAY NOV 14TH vs. SYRACUSE (5:05 p.m.): Cartoon Network's Johnny Bravo Character Night - The Cartoon Network's Johnny Bravo will make an appearance at the game/New York State Lottery Night - Lottery ticket vouchers will be given to the first 500 fans (18 and older) that enter the building. NY Lotto will have a table on the concourse with trivia questions for fans throughout the night./Press & Sun-Bulletin Score 4 Pack: Binghamton opened their home schedule with a 4-1 victory against the Crunch on Saturday, Oct. 16. RAY EMERY earned his first victory of the season making 35 saves on 36 shots. JESSE FIBIGER scored his only goal of the season against the Crunch that night. Also scoring for Binghamton were ANTOINE VERMETTE, BRIAN POTHIER and DENIS HAMEL. The game was a penalty-filled affair with a total of 94 penalty minutes being assessed in the game. With 14 points, Philadelphia is currently tied for the East Division lead with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

SENS SNIPPETS: Co-coach JOHN PADDOCK is still waiting for career coaching victory number 500. Wednesday's game will be the B-Sens fifth chance to reach the milestone for their coach. He currently has 499 victories to his credit. BRIAN McGRATTAN leads the AHL in penalty minutes with 105. The next closest player is former B-Sen Dennis Bonvie with 79. JASON SPEZZA is the B-Sens' nominee for CCM Vector AHL Player of the Week for a second consecutive week.Binghamton lost a home game to the Rochester Americans for the first time in franchise history on Saturday evening..Binghamton tied the franchise record for most consecutive home losses on Saturday. The B-Sens have now lost three consecutive home games.

SENS IN THE COMMUNITY: B-Sens players, coaches and staff will be at the Holiday Inn Arena for a media luncheon tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. The luncheon will be held in the left bank room of the hotel and is open to all local print and electronic media.
