Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release

Bowling Green, Ky. - Due to heavy rain in the area, and the anticipation of more precipitation, the game between the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Class-A/Tampa Bay Rays) and Dayton Dragons (Cincinnati Reds) was suspended on Wednesday night at Bowling Green Ballpark. The two teams will pick back up where they left off on Thursday evening, and gates will open at 4:30 p.m.

The game was suspended just before the beginning of the bottom of the second inning. Ariel Soriano will lead off the bottom of the second inning with the game scoreless between the two squads. Starters Jaime Schultz and Ismael Guillon each allowed one hit apiece, but no runs came across. The suspended game will be completed as scheduled, and the following game will be a seven-inning contest that will get underway approximately 30 minutes after the suspended game is finished.

Fans who had tickets to Wednesday night's game can redeem them for any future Hot Rods game, excluding July 26. Thursday night will be a Thirsty Thursday presented by 96.7 WBVR - The Beaver. Pepsi products and select draft beers will be just two dollars. For tickets and other information, fans can logon to BGHotRods.com, call 270-901-2121, or stop by the Bowling Green Ballpark box office.

The Hot Rods are in the beginning stages of a six-game homestand. They'll be in town through Monday, June 9. Ben Griset will take the mound for the Hot Rods in the regularly scheduled game, which will be a seven-inning contest that follows the completion of Wednesday's suspended game.
