
Bees Victorious in Return Home

(Burlington-IA)- Bees' third baseman, Angel Rosa, went 4-for-4 as the Burlington Bees defeated the Quad Cities River Bandits, 6-3, in the series opener at Community Field on Wednesday night.
Kody Eaves doubled with two out in the third inning and then came home to score on a Chad Hinshaw single, giving the Bees a 1-0 lead. After a wild pitch moved Hinshaw to second, Mike Fish singled to left extending the Bees lead to 2-0.
Eric Aguilera doubled the Bees' lead with a two run, opposite field, home run in the fifth, pushing the Bees lead to 4-0. Later in the inning Angel Rosa doubled in Brandon Bayardi and the Bees led 5-0 after five innings.
Quad Cities scored three runs in the sixth inning to pull within a pair. Chan Jong Moon drove in the first run of the game with a bases loaded walk. Brett Phillips then singled in two runs and the Bees' lead was cut to 5-3. Mike Fish would throw out Chan Jong Moon at the plate to end the frame.
Kody Eaves gave the Bees an insurance run in the eighth, with a double scoring Stephen McGee, giving the Bees the 6-3 lead.
Bees' starter Victor Alcantara (3-3) picked up the win while River Bandits' starter Jandel Gustave (5-3) was charged with the loss. Brian Loconsole (1) earned the save.
The Burlington Bees (29-28) and the Quad Cities River Bandits (30-28) continue their three game series at Community Field for Thirsty Thursday. Harrison Cooney starts for the Bees while Michael Feliz takes the hill for Quad Cities.
