Dragons Suspended by Rain in Bowling Green

Bowling Green, Ky.--The Midwest League game between the Dayton Dragons and Bowling Green Hot Rods in Bowling Green, Kentucky on Wednesday, June 4 has been suspended due to rain. The game was suspended entering the bottom of the second inning with the score tied at 0-0.

Heavy rain, strong wind, and severe lightning did not allow the game to resume after a delay of about 30 minutes.

Wednesday's suspended game will be resumed on Thursday, June 5 starting at 6:00 p.m. EDT in Bowling Green. The suspended game will be resumed in the second inning and continue to nine scheduled innings. The second game of the doubleheader will be a seven-inning game.

Dan Langfield (2-0, 5.91) is expected to be on the mound for the Dragons when the first game resumes while Bowling Green is expected to send out Jorge Rodriguez (1-2, 3.74).

In the second game, Amir Garrett (0-4, 5.03) will start for Dayton against Bowling Green's Ben Griset (0-0, 3.60).

The Dragons lost one-half game in the wildcard race on Wednesday as West Michigan beat Great Lakes in the first game of a three-game series. The Whitecaps lead the Dragons by two and one-half games in the first half playoff chase with 12 games to play. The Dragons are 29-27 on the year. The Dragons can regain the half-game they lost on Wednesday by winning the first game on Thursday.
