
Berube Reassigned to Manchester

MANCHESTER, NH - The 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have reassigned goaltender Jean-Francois Berube to Manchester, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.
Berube, 21, made his only appearance for the Monarchs this season in relief on Tuesday, January 15. Berube took the loss in a 7-5 defeat to the Springfield Falcons surrendering four goals and making 13 saves on 17 shots. Berube has a record of 15-4-1, a 2.17 goals-against-average and a 0.910 save percentage in 22 appearances for the from the ECHL's Ontario Reign this season. Berube's 2.17 goals-against-average is ranked third amongst ECHL netminders . Last season, Berube collected a 17-13-4 record in 37 games including four shutouts during his first professional season with the Reign. A native of Repentigny, Quebec City, Berube also logged 2,091 minutes, posted a goals-against-average of 2.87 and a 0.907 save percentage for the Reign last season. Berube earned his first professional win in his American Hockey League debut on April 2, 2010 during a three game stint with the Monarchs at the end of the 2009-10 season. In four games with the Monarchs, Berube owns a 2-2-0 record, a 4.11 goals-against-average, and a 0.839 save percentage. Berube was drafted by the Kings in the fourth-round (95th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-1, 174-pound netminder collected a 32-7-8 record in 50 appearances while registering a 2.60 goals-against-average and a 0.902 save percentage for the Montreal Juniors of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for the 2010-11 season. In three seasons (2008-11) with the Juniors, Berube finished with a 55-37-10 record, a 2.77 goals-against-average and a 0.901 save percentage in 115 appearances.
