Anthony Nigro Returns from Evansville

Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced today that the St. Louis Blues have reassigned forward Anthony Nigro to the Rivermen from their ECHL affiliate, the Evansville IceMen.

Nigro, 22, has appeared in 18 games with Peoria this season. He has a goal and two assists in his injury shortened season. He has played in 19 games this year with the IceMen as part of three separate assignments. He has three goals and five assists, along with six penalty minutes at the ECHL level.

The third-year pro has appeared in 147 games in his Peoria career and has accumulated 24 goals and 21 assists for 45 points along with 68 penalty minutes. Last season, Nigro set a career-high in goals (13), assists (12) and points (25) over the course of 75 games. The Woodbridge, ON native was originally selected by the Blues in the sixth round (#155 overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
