Berger to Pitch for AAA Columbus Wednesday

AKRON, OH - The Cleveland Indians announced Wednesday that lefty Eric Berger has been promoted from the Akron Aeros to the Columbus Clippers and will start tonight's game against Scranton-Wilkes Barre (Yankees) in Rochester, New York, at 7:05.
Berger, 26, has been in the Aeros starting rotation all season, going 0-3, 4.37 ERA in five starts. He has fanned 22 and walked only eight in 22 2/3 innings.
Tonight's game will mark Berger's 17th appearance and sixth start at the Triple-A level.
A native of Roseville, California, Berger was an 8th round selection by the Indians in the 2008 draft out of the University of Arizona.
Following Wednesday's start for the Clippers, Berger is expected to re-join the Aeros.
The Aeros roster now stands at 24 players.
The Aeros will continue the current homestand as they welcome in the Harrisburg Senators on Thursday evening at 7:05. It will start a four-game series, running through Sunday at Canal Park.
