Beloit Bats Rally In Ninth-Inning Comeback Win Over Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - With the team trailing the entire game, the Beloit Snappers came to the plate in the ninth down by one. The bats came alive. The Snappers' two-run come-from-behind rally ninth inning was enough to hold onto the victory over the Cedar Rapids Kernels 4-3.

The Kernels plated three in the bottom of the third to jump in front 3-0. The Snappers clawed back into the lead, one run at a time. In the top of the fourth, Thomas Jones reached third. Griffin Conine grounded out to second, but Jones scored in the process.

Beloit scored one in the seventh to make it 3-2, Cedar Rapids. Then, the Snappers scored two runs in the top of the ninth on a sacrifice fly from Bubba Hollins and an RBI single by Zach Owings to take a 4-3 lead. Tyler Mitzel earned the save, pitching a perfect ninth inning.

Beloit's Top Performers: Ricky Aracena scored the go-ahead run after a ninth-inning double. Josh Roberson retired all six batters he faced in his High-A debut to earn the win in relief. Jones reached three times and stole three bases.
