July 19, 2023 - Midwest League (MWL)
Beloit Sky Carp News Release

BELOIT- The Beloit Sky Carp just couldn't get the big hit Wednesday night at ABC Supply Stadium.

The Sky Carp left seven men on base, including two in the ninth inning, and fell 3-2 to the Quad Cities River Bandits before a terrific crowd of 1,984.

Much like they did in Tuesday night's Quad Cities victory, the River Bandits struck first, scoring a pair of runs in the second inning and one more in the fifth to make it 3-0.

Joe Mack got the Sky Carp on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning with his first home run of the season. The two-run blast made it 3-2, River Bandits.

Gabe Bierman got the start for Beloit and was solid, finishing six innings while allowing three runs. The bullpen combination of Breidy Encarnacion and Caleb Wurster didn't allow a run in three innings of work.

The Sky Carp and River Bandits will do it again on Thursday night at ABC Supply Stadium. It's Thirsty Thursday at the ballpark! Fans can enjoy $2 12-ounce drafts of Busch Light and $4 16-ounce cans!

Game time is set for 6:35, with gates opening at 5:30.

The Beloit Sky Carp are the High-A Affiliate of the Miami Marlins and play their games at ABC Supply Stadium -- the heart of the Riverbend District.
