The Bees exploded for eight runs in the seventh inning, as Salt Lake rallied for a 10-3 win over the Memphis Redbirds on Tuesday. The Bees trailed 3-0 in the sixth when they scored a pair of runs on a sacrifice fly by Trent Oeltjen and a run-scoring single by Roberto Lopez. Matt Long led off the seventh with a double to left, Andrew Romine was hit by a pitch and Kole Calhoun reached on a bunt single to load the bases. Luis Jimenez brought in the tying run with a sacrifice fly. After Efren Navarro was intentionally walked, Luis Rodriguez received a base on balls to force in the go-ahead run. Oeltjen followed with a two-run double to make it 6-3. Lopez was hit by a pitch to reload the bases and after Luke Carlin was walked to force in another run Andrew Romine delivered a three-run single to cap off the inning.

David Carpenter (4-0) tossed two scoreless innings to earn the victory. Starter Kip Wells recorded his first quality start of the season, as he went six innings and allowed three runs on four hits. Romine and Oeltjen each had one hit and three runs batted in, while Calhoun added two hits and scored one run, as the Bees record the team's third consecutive win in front of 14,446 school kids.

"Wells was able to make enough pitches to get through six innings for us on a day when we needed some length from our starter," said Bees manager Keith Johnson. "The quality of his pitches are definitely starting to get better, and hopefully he can take this and continue to build on it."
