PEORIA, IL- On April 18, 1983, the Peoria Suns played the first home game in Peoria Chiefs history with a 7-3 loss to the Quad City Cubs in front of 1,134 fans at Meinen Field. More than 26 years later, the Peoria Chiefs are ready to welcome their five millionth fan in franchise history!!! Needing just 391 fans to reach the milestone, the Chiefs will celebrate with all their fans on Saturday, July 4 with a 5:00 p.m. start against the Beloit Snappers.

On Saturday, tickets for both the seating bowl and lawn are only $5. Special single game tickets are also available in the Stadium Club (1st Base Suite Level Party Deck) for $10 each. Wait service and a cash bar will be available in the party deck. Advance reservations requested, limited space available). Also on Saturday there are a limited number of luxury suite seats are available for $30 per ticket and includes an all-you-can-eat buffet, call 309-680-4010 for more details. Individual tickets can be purchased by calling TicketReturn toll free at 1-866-MYTICKET (1-866-698-4253). Their hours of operation are 8 am to 8 pm, seven days a week. You may also call (309) 680-4008 for the O'Brien Field Ticket Office during regular Box Office hours from 10:00 am-5:00 pm. Fans may also order tickets online at www.peoriachiefs.com.

In 1989 the Chiefs hit the one million fan mark when they welcomed 225,757 fans to Meinen Field and five years later in 1994, the two millionth fan was in attendance at the re-named Vonachen Stadium with a season attendance of 176,603. With an attendance of 150,439 in 2000, the three millionth fan walked through the gates of Vonachen Stadium. At the Chiefs current home, O'Brien Field, the four millionth fan was welcomed in 2005 with the season's attendance hitting 256,612. The Chiefs set a single season franchise record in 2007 and then broke that record last season with 275,673 fans.

Every fan who enters O'Brien Field on Saturday has an equal chance to be recognized as the Five Millionth Fan in Chiefs history.
