Beavers Throw Perfect Game Against River Cats in Second Half of Twin-Bill

West Sacramento, Calif. - The Portland Beavers threw a seven-inning perfect game against the Sacramento River Cats, defeating Sacramento, 5-0, in Game 2 of a Friday night doubleheader at Raley Field. Portland pitchers Ryan Meaux (4.0 IP, 4 K), Aquilino Lopez (2.0 IP, 1 K) and Cla Meredith (1.0 IP, 2 K) combined on the gem, the first perfect game in the 91-year history of the Portland franchise. Lopez earned the victory, improving to 3-1 on the season. It is also the first time the River Cats have ever had a no-hitter or perfect game thrown against them in the team's 6+ year history. Cats' starter Kazuhito Tadano took the loss, giving up 4 runs (3 earned) in 4 2/3 innings of work.
