
Tucson keeps rolling with another walk off win over Salt Lake, 8-7

Tucson, AZ - The Sidewinders came from behind for their second consecutive walk off victory against the Salt Lake Bees yesterday. Tucson went into the bottom of the tenth down 7-5 and managed three runs capped by a C Juan Brito walk off single to center to win the game 8-7. Tucson remains in first place with the victory and stretches its winning streak to a season high six games.
LF Scott Hairston led off the second inning with a double down the left-field line and was followed by a 1B Chris Carter homer to right. 3B Brian Barden walked and came around to score later on a RF Kenny Perez single to give Tucson a 3-0 lead.
Salt Lake got two back in the fourth. 2B Howie Kendrick led off with a single and advanced to second on a throwing error by SS Stephen Drew. RF Nick Gorneault singled to left-center to put runners at the corners. Kendrick then came home on a C Jeff Mathis single through the hole at second base and Gorneault came around to score on a 1B Mike Eylward groundout to bring the game within one at 3-2.
The Bees then took the lead in the sixth. Kendrick led off with a single and he moved to second when Eylward walked. DH Corey Myers singled to third base to load the bases. 3B Adam Pavkovich then singled to left, scoring both Kendrick and Eylward.
Tucson reclaimed the lead in the sixth after scoring two more runs. Carter singled to short and was followed by Barden's second walk of the game. LF Matt Erickson singled to right-center, plating Carter and tying the game at 4-4. C Juan Brito reached on a throwing error by SS Casey Smith that also scored Barden from second base and gave the Sidewinders a 5-4 lead.
In the ninth, RHP Casey Daigle came on to try and close out the game. He walked Eylward to start the inning. PR Curtis Pride came on to run at first. Myers singled to put runners on first and second. Another infield single by Willits loaded the bases, and Smith grounded into a fielder's choice to plate Pride from third and tie the game at 5-5.
Daigle came back out in the tenth and allowed two more Salt Lake runs. Kendrick slapped his fourth single of the night and moved to third on a Gorneault double to left. Mathis hit a ground rule double to left, scoring two runs to make the score 7-5.
Tucson came back in the tenth to win it. Three straight walks loaded the bases and a Carter single to left scored Callaspo and Young to tie the game at 7-7. Erickson walked to load the bases up again and Brito singled to center to plate Drew and give the Sidewinders their second straight walk off victory.
