Hershey Bears News Release
HERSHEY picks up another road win, winning an 11 am. start in Bridgeport against the Sound Tigers 4-1 at the Arena at Harbor Yard.
HERSHEY scored first in the morning game, with Joey Tenute potting his seventh goal of the season. Taking a pass from Owen Fussey, Tenute fired a shot at Bridgeport goaltender Wade Dubieiewicz and scored on his own rebound to give the BEARS a 1-0 lead after one period.
In the second period, the BEARS ran their lead to 2-0 when Lawrence Nycholat scored his third goal of the season at 3:43. Bridgeport would find the scoreboard at the 6:20 mark of the second when Jeff Hamilton picked up his fifth goal of the year. Eric Fehr finished off the Tigers with a pair of third period goals, his 11th and 12th of the season.
Stephen Peat made his HERSHEY debut in the game. He was assigned Tuesday by the Washington Capitals on a conditioning assignment. The BEARS now have 48 power play goals on the season, the best mark in the American Hockey League.
The BEARS travel to Binghamton to face the Senators Friday night at 7:05 p.m. HERSHEY returns to GIANT Center this weekend for games Saturday and Sunday against Bridgeport. Face-off Saturday is at 7:00 p.m., with Sunday's tilt slated to begin at 5:00 p.m.
