Baysox Present Reimold Bobblehead
July 7, 2010 - Eastern League (EL1)
Chesapeake Baysox News Release
BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce today the Nolan Reimold Bobblehead Giveaway, Thursday, July 22, as the team takes on the Richmond Flying Squirrels at 7:05 p.m. The first 1,000 fans ages three and up receive the bobblehead, courtesy of Madison Interiors.
Reimold played in 189 games for the Baysox from 2007-2008, batting .290 with 36 home runs and 118 RBIs. He stole 13 bases in 17 attempts and was named to the 2008 Eastern League All-Star Game and the 2008 Eastern League Post-Season All-Star team. The outfielder produced one of the most memorable offensive games in Baysox history in his final game at Prince George's Stadium, hitting three home runs and driving in eight runs in game two of the Divisional Playoff Series against Akron, Sept. 3, 2008.
Baysox Assistant General Manager Phil Wrye has seen a number of talented players pass through Bowie over the years. "Nolan will always be one of my favorites," Wrye said. "Not only did he play the game at a very high level, he played the game the right way. I'm sure this year hasn't unfolded the way he planned, but he is a great player and he has a long career ahead of him in Baltimore. We will never forget the contributions he made with the Baysox."
Reimold's bobbling likeness stands approximately seven and a half inches tall and shows Reimold with a bat extended behind him at the end of a swing. The figurine features the outfielder in Bowie's home white jersey with white batting gloves, black shoes and socks and Reimold's name and the number 30 on the back.
