(Harrisburg, PA) - Baysox starter Brad Bergesen grinded through five rough innings and gave up six runs as Bowie fell in Harrisburg 6-3 Friday night. Bergesen gave up nine hits and a walk and struck out one batter on his way to his third loss of the year. Matt Wieters got a single to extend his hitting streak to ten games and Jonathan Tucker collected a season-high three doubles in the loss.

The Baysox put a run across in their first turn at bat. Jonathan Tucker led off the game with a double and Lou Montanez singled him home to give Bowie an early 1-0 lead.

The Senators stormed back with three run in the bottom of the first inning. William Bergolla and Bill Rhinehart picked up one-out singles to set the plate for Luis Jimenez. Jimenez came up with two away and smashed a three-run homerun to right field to give Harrisburg the 3-1 lead.

Bowie chipped away with runs in the third and fourth innings. Jonathan Tucker led off the third inning with another double and moved to third when Carlos Rojas grounded out. Lou Montanez brought him home with a sacrifice fly to left field to make the score 3-2. With one out in the top of the fourth and Brian Peterson on first base, Senators starter Justin Jones picked Peterson off first. Travis Brown came up and walked with the bases empty and Jonathan Tucker plated Brown to tie it at 3-3 with his third double of the game.

Harrisburg was quick to jump back in front, scoring runs in their next two turns at bat. Johnny Estrada, on a Major League rehab assignment, led off the bottom of the fourth with a solo homerun to right field to give the Senators a 4-3 lead. Seth Bynum brought in Marvin Lowrance with a two-out single up the middle to bring the lead to two. William Bergolla led off the bottom of the fifth with a double down the left field line and moved to third on a groundout by Bill Rhinehart. Estrada hit a single to right field to plate Bergolla for his second RBI of the night. Bergesen retired the rest of side but the Senators took a 6-3 lead to the seventh inning.

The Harrisburg bullpen shut the Baysox down, giving up just two hits after Justin Jones left in the sixth. Adam Carr worked two no-hit innings to earn his sixth save of the year. Jason Burch and Gerardo Casadiego combined for three shutout innings in relief of Bergesen, giving up only three hits combined.

With the loss, the Baysox move to 53-41 on the year, still clinging to second place in the Southern Division. Bowie looks to turn things around Saturday with RHP David Hernandez (5-1, 2.70 ERA) going up against Harrisburg RHP Craig Stammen (1-1, 2.13 ERA).
