ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves open up a four-game series against the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) at Jerry Uht Park. Altoona holds a two-game advantage in the season series and the current series marks the last four regular season meetings between the two clubs...The ‘Wolves have dropped six of their last seven and nine of their last 11 and are currently in last place in the Southern Division, 20.5 games behind first place Akron. Erie is 17-games under .500 which is a season-worst...Altoona enters tonight's game in a fourth place tie with Reading, 19.5 games behind Akron. They are coming off of a series loss to Trenton and have dropped four of the last five games...Righty Ben Fritz takes the mound tonight for the ‘Wolves, making his 14th start of the season and his third against the Curve. Fritz took a no-decision in his last outing against Bowie. In the game, he went six innings, allowing two runs on six hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Fritz left the game with a lead, but the bullpen could not hold on as the ‘Wolves fell 6-4. The two earned runs allowed by Fritz were the fewest he has yielded in an outing since returning from the disabled list on June 6...RHP Derek Hankins takes the mound for the Curve, making his 15th appearance and 14th start of the season. Hankins has fallen in his last three outings. In his last start against Harrisburg, he went five innings, allowing four runs, two earned, on four hits with a walk and five strikeouts. Hankins is making his first start against the SeaWolves.
