Louisville Bats News Release

LOUISVILLE Ky.- The Louisville Bats (42-44) were able to win a thriller over the Indianapolis Indians (51-35) by the score of 3-2 on Tuesday night at Louisville Slugger Field. The Bats brought four pitchers to the mound to get the win.

The Bats wasted little time getting on the board. After Irving Falu and Kristopher Negron both singled, Brennan Boesch brought in Falu with a groundout to second base to get a one run lead in the bottom of the first.

Falu scored again in the third inning after he singled and then was brought in by a sacrifice fly off the bat of Ryan LaMarre.

The Indians tied it up in the sixth inning after Jose Tabata hit a double down the left field line and Brent Morel hit a two-run home run.

The Bats then took back the lead in the bottom of the eighth. After Kyle Waldrop and Jermaine Curtis both singled, Ramon Cabrera hit a single to right field which allowed Waldrop score from second to secure the win for Louisville.

Offensively for the Bats, Falu and Waldrop were both 2-for-4 on the night.

For the Bats, Tony Cingrani made his second rehab start. Cingrani pitched three innings. He gave up two hits, no runs, and one walk while striking out four. Donovan Hand, Jose De La Torre, and Jumbo Diaz also saw time on the mound. De La Torre (W, 5-3, 3.96) picked up the win. Diaz picked up a save (S,6).

Wilfredo Boscan started the game for the Indians on the mound. Boscan pitched five innings. He gave up six hits, two earned runs, and four walks while fanning three. Yhonathan Barrios (L, 1-1, 1.64) suffered the loss for Indianapolis.

The Bats will play game five of the six game split-series against Indaianpolis on Wednesday at 7:05.

On the mound for Louisville will be Robert Stephenson (1-0, 3.60). For Indianapolis right-handed pitcher Chris Volstad (5-3, 3.62) will get the start.
