CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Louisville Bats (52-68) dropped Thursday night's series opener to the Charlotte Knights (55-65) by a 9-4 score at BB&T Ballpark. The loss makes it six losses in a row for the Bats, tying a season-high losing streak.

Louisville employed six pitchers on the night, starting with right-hander Jackson Stephens, who pitched a clean bottom of the first. The Bats led briefly, scoring a run in the top of the second on a Tim Federowicz RBI double that scored Brian O'Grady.

Charlotte attacked Louisville pitching in the bottom of the fourth, putting up a six-spot in the inning to take a 6-1 lead. Five of the runs were off right-hander Jesus Reyes, with one coming against right-hander Austin Brice. Left-handers Brandon Finnegan and Kyle Crockett each tossed 2.0 scoreless innings out of the bullpen for Louisville.
