
"Bat Flip Kid" to Take Center Stage at Curve Home Finale

CURVE, Pa. - A four-year-old internet sensation will visit Peoples Natural Gas Field on Sunday, August 30. Eston Powell, who has been seen all over the web doing an impressive bat flip for such a youngster, will be highlighted pre-game before the Altoona Curve take on the Trenton Thunder at 6 p.m.
The video, which shows Eston crushing a wiffle ball, and then flipping the bat with some style, first started to go viral on Monday. The "Bat Flip Kid" was covered nationwide by major media outlets such as ESPN, FOX Sports, CBS Sports, USA Today and Sports Illustrated.
The family lives in the Cumberland, Md. area and has attended Curve games in the past. The baseball team Eston is affiliated with, the Garrett County Timber Rattlers, will be interviewed on the field as well as Eston himself, and he will try to recreate his now-famous bat flip.
