Reading Fightin Phils News Release
Hoby Milner, Ryan O'Sullivan and Tom Windle combined for seven shutout innings Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Bowie Baysox (75-57). The Fightin Phils (76-56) three-game winning streak came to an end and look for a series win on Sunday.
Mike Yastrzemski hit a two-run home run off Nick Pivetta in the top of the first inning that gave Bowie a 2-0 lead. The Baysox added another run in the top of the second inning off Pivetta as Glynn Davis scored on a double-play. Destin Hood hit a solo home run off Nick Additon in the bottom of the third inning that cut Bowie's lead to 3-1.
Bowie chased Pivetta out of the game in the top of the third inning without recording an out. Trey Mancini hit a RBI double while Brandon Snyder hit a two-run single that gave the Baysox a 6-1 lead. Hoby Milner came into the game and finished out the inning without giving up a run.
Rene Garcia got Reading closer in the bottom of the fourth inning as he hit a RBI single off Additon that cut the Baysox lead to 6-2. Additon left the game after 4 2/3 innings as he allowed two runs. Milner shutout the Baysox through 4 1/3 innings as he gave up two hits with two strikeouts. Ryan O'Sullivan came into the game in the top of the seventh inning. He didn't allow a run through 1 2/3 innings. Tom Windle pitched a scoreless inning in relief in the top of the ninth.
Jason Stoffel (1-0) earned his first win of the season for Bowie while Nick Pivetta (2-4) took the loss for Reading. Rene Garcia (7) and Andrew Knapp (6) both extended their hitting streaks.
The Fightin Phils and Baysox will wrap up their season series on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is at 1:35 pm. Fans can listen to the game on CBS Sports Radio 1240 AM/98-5 FM and fightins.com beginning at 1:05 pm. Fans can also watch the game on MiLB.tv at 1:35 pm.
