Barons Fall at Home 3-0 to Moose

CLEVELAND, OH - The Manitoba Moose held the Barons to just 15-shots on goal in a 3-0 win for the visitors. Sebastian Centomo made his Moose debut and earned an assist along with his shutout performance in the matinee match up.

Both teams skated through a scoreless tie in a fast-paced first period of action. Each team received two power play opportunities, but failed to convert as Barons goaltender Jamie Holden handled all 10 Manitoba shots-on-goal. The Barons managed just four shots-on-goal against Sebastian Centomo, making his season debut for the Moose.

Manitoba managed more scoring chances in the second period, the result of five consecutive power play chances. Manitoba failed to convert on the man-advantage, but still scored the period?s only goal. Rick Rypien tallied a goal for the third consecutive game with a slap shot from just inside the Barons blue line. The bouncing puck alluded Holden, who managed 8-saves in the period. Centomo and Jesse Schultz assisted on the Manitoba score. Cleveland did not receive a power play opportunity, but were strong short-handed killing off five consecutive power plays for the Moose.

Centomo proved to be too much for the Barons to overcome in a 3-0 loss to the Moose. Mike Brown extended the Manitoba lead to 2-0 with his second goal of the year at the 15:42 of the period. Mike Keane and Maxime Fortunus assisted on Brown?s goal. Jesse Schultz added his team leading 14th goal of the year into an empty net to complete the scoring.

The two teams square off again tomorrow evening at 5pm in Cleveland.
